And on a lighter note...

We were burgled last night.

We got a phone call from the school around the corner. Two kids handed in my handbag and purse and [profile] larians wallet. Then we discovered that stuff (laptop, mobiles, the usual) had gone. Then an old chap phoned up saying he'd found a cheque made out to [profile] larians at a nearby bus stop. He came round and dropped it off. People really are a bit lovely.

Police caught the thief less than 30 minutes after we'd been on the phone to them; plus they've recovered all the nicked stuff. So apart from the fag of cancelled cards etc, all's well, and now I have a reason to pressure my poor love for a puppy. Won't hear a word against our Manchester boys in blue!

Oh, and re that tracker thing wandering near this wee corner of lj, no thank you. Read in peace. Your anonymity is safe with me;-)

Oh blimey - so much for the low crime area! Did it happen while you were out or while you were asleep? Are you okay?

Yikes! Oh geez, I'm glad you're both ok. How did they catch the thief so fast? I'm impressed.

We're fine thanks:-)

We were asleep. Our guard cats are crap!

Oh that's scary. How did they get in?

[identity profile] smokingboot.livejournal.com 2005-04-08 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too!

I have no idea how they managed it. I'm just glad they did!

This may sound familiar

erm...well...*twiddles fingers*...there is the tiniest possibility that we left the door unlocked...but the window has been tried to so we're waiting for CSI to arrive and tell us everything.

BTW what is the RobinBobbin disabled message on your lj? Is it the tracker?

"there is the tiniest possibility that we left the door unlocked"

*sympathy* Makes you feel like shit, doesn't it?

Yes it was the tracker. I'd delete it off if it wasn't for all the comments.

My shallowness has hidden depths...

...the moment everything's OK, I forget!

re the tracker, is there something wrong with it?

Fuck knows! It'd lost its novelty anyway.

Sounds like your boys in blue have done you proud. I'm glad they got your stuff back!

*hugs*

*smiles* thanks!

I take it (and hope) you are prosecuting?

Get a German Shepherd puppy, they are soooo cute as puppies and very very territorial, whilst being equally hospitable to anyone who's 'allowed' in. Get a cross if you can, to avoid the incipient evil that the Kennel Club have inflicted upon the poor breed (hip dispalcia, kidney and liver failure, etc.)

Don't know how this works, if it's us or the police who are prosecuting, but the culprits carried out a spate of robberies that night and approximations of sentence were in excess of three years. Looks a bit grim for the thieves:-)

German Shepherd puppies are just gorgeous! I confess to having a bit of a yearning for a bloodhound, but [profile] larians doesn't really like slobbery dogs. I like any canine fool who will be my friend!
