What I want

I am never very good at actually naming the thing I want. I'm always afraid that once you name it, all the magic floats out of it and it becomes ordinary. But not today. After a very interesting Beltane that hasn't quite finished, just for once, I have a clear idea of exactly what I want to do next.

1. Find an old hotel carved into the rocks of Cappadocia or Petra, or somewhere where the land is orange and red; explore.

2. Sit in a window seat of old hotel high above the mountains and write for days.

3. On reaching natural break in story, leave solitude, go find party full of friends, see everyone, give big hugs, say hi, hear what's going on, dance, enjoy music and talk.

4. Take lover somewhere/lover takes me somewhere far far away and we make out for a couple of days or until we are sated.

5. Return to 1 and repeat process until book is finished.

Yup, that will do nicely.

So the going to the party might take a little longer.

Or not, gather chums around you when you head out. Give them paper, crayons and wine. They will still be there when you emerge from your writing trance.

S'truth.

How can I concentrate with all the loveliness of chums around me? It's like chocolate or champagne; I can't resist it, my only hope is not to be able to reach it!

Is that the collective noun for chums ?

A murder of crows, a parliement of rooks, a loveliness of chums ?

(carefully hangs chocolate from high beams, in the hope of seeing Darling Boot leap like a kitten)
