Pink champagne and white, snow at midnight, for a year that's been so tough 2003 departed like an (admittedly gently hammered) angel. We spent the last and first day in most excellent company, today I have been writing, editing and relaxing, tomorrow I'm going to buy garden trays and plant all the amazing seeds my mother has given me.

I know it's just an arbitrary date, a number, a marking of the seasons, but this new year has been special for me. Something has changed. It feels good.
