smokingboot | Stuff that doesn't quite fit

I think I learned something this weekend.

This is my official 'Told You So,' notice to myself for future reference. And that is all I intend to say on that matter, even to me.

A good if necessarily very gentle weekend playing Shadowrun. I like the character I'm creating. She feels very 3D, very real. I wish my throat was a bit less sore.

Phone call from pagan chum in London, giving me the goss. Strange, when you hear different sides of the same story. HairyTrannieHoney and Catherine Zeta-Jones Lookalike broke up some time ago, and one particular source has been reporting how he moons after her, looking for reasons to talk to her, reviling her in her absence, the usual rubbish. I guess I kind of believed it because she is very beautiful, the sort of girl you expect ex's to follow around and never get over.

Now I learn that she has in fact been doing something similar, and that seems much weirder to me for the most shallow of reasons. He is a lovely man, radiant with charm, but no looker. I just don't get it. And I should. His form of beauty is far more than skin deep and he's an old friend. 'Obsessed' was how my pagan chum described it. 'They're both mad!'

Or maybe they're both still in love. Why don't they just get on with it? How hard can it be?

That's better. I love the smell of spurious judgement in the morning. It's the smell of victory.
