Great weekend!
But tired due to sitting up all night eating, drinking, talking, playing D&D. This may be one great thing about our generation; if we ever do trundle off into retirement homes, provided someone's got dice we can make up some game to play and pretend to be other people. If we can do nothing else, we'll fantasise our way into other worlds.
The weather was kind to us in so much as it was overcast and wet, perfect for forcing us to stay in with the company of books and dreams. Monday lifted into a beautiful day but by then our mates were travelling and we went to see Guardians of the Galaxy III which, though funny with a sharp take on the theme of animal cruelty, was nonetheless distressing for me. Despite agreeing with the message and loving the excellent sound track, I wouldn't watch it again.
The loveliest thing about this day was coming home to see the slim bright crescent of a new moon with approaching star; I think it's Venus but it might be Spica. It soothed my soul to see it, so beautiful and so real.
I've given up trying to take pics of these things, my phone camera's no good at night skies. Sometimes all you can do is be there and see it.
