smokingbootA very pleasant weekend with some some moments best described as alcohol-infused, only to be expected when BM comes to visit. I may have eaten my own body weight in cheese. We talked, we ate and drank, we visited North Berwick, we played Star Wars, we hatched plans. So there is a plan, a plan to go to...
Albania!
Never been to Albania. Sounds excellent. Alas, it would only be for a short week, so effectively that's three full days, probably not enough time to visit Gjirocaster. Besides, how can I go to Albania and not go to The Accursed Mountains? I am delighted that there's actually a range called that. And there are wolves in various national parks. I have yet to see wolves in the wild.
Treatment etc may make this occasion a no-no for me. Still, going to encourage the others to go have a great time. Let's consider it a scouting mission.
I wish I didn't feel so tired, but at least there's a reason for it that's both fun and legit, as opposed to the same old.
Meanwhile, there were almost moments of Sandalwood libanomancy;
Not that it occurred to me to actually ask the incense anything; I just love rising smoke, the way it coils into lilies and trumpets and tells stories. On this occasion, I could make out a plague doctor, a jellyfish and an aviator, while friends have detected a gnome (left hand side of the cushion), a starship navigator's helmet, and a huge ape. Narrative, oracular or otherwise, will have to wait until my head is back on, but who can resist a King Kong/Star Wars crossover?
Another reason why joining the guys in Albania might not be the best idea; whatever happened to my capacity for booze?
