Blimey. That was dramatic.

And annoying. Not only did I miss the procession and the fair, I was so ill we couldn't go to the These Wicked Rivers gig as we planned.

It was a quick horror though, peaked high but didn't last long. Just as well. To add to the misery, I started having nausea, blinding headaches and a weird thing that has turned up a couple of times before, serious hand cramps, frozen fingers, that sort of thing. Dehydration I guess. Lordy, I am sick of my body behaving badly. On the other hand, Poor Donkey Body might say the same about me.

I'm better now.

Russ made us a cracking dinner of tilapia with a starter of scallops and prawns. I recall speaking long ago to a shaman who worked with ayahuasca and he recommended tilapia as a food you could eat in gentle recovery from fasting and the workings of the vine. This bore out his recommendation. It certainly tasted good and there have been no repercussions.

It did not come from our local Tesco, which is a big store and yet somehow a lot of the meat we have bought from there recently has been off. Generally much of the fresh foodstuff is short-dated, and a lot of meat which is not short-dated turns out to be nasty once the wrapper's away. Maybe some mighty refrigerator somewhere has packed up. It happens too frequently to the extent that we are trying the Morrison's meat and fish counters; that's where the tilapia came from and I can't fault it.

But I do wonder what's going on.
