I never knew this, how cool! Perfumes are one of those things I wish it was easier to learn about. I know what individual flowers smell like (although I swear poppies don't have a scent), and fruit and spices, but the different woods and musks etc are all just words to me, which makes it very hard to map from a scents I know I like to a perfume description. For example, there's an enduring scent to Obsession that I like very much, but the initial scent really not, but I've never found a way to buy perfume that starts off the way Obsession finishes.
