Sweet nothings

The pleasant mood is still with me, aided by the sun streaming in through the curtains, insisting I wake up, making me smile. This is silly, thoroughly OTT, considering. I'm sure something will happen to pull me down sometime but right now it's just a sweet feeling and I am not doing anything to get rid of it. Last night I slept well, and dreamt of a continent far to the north waiting to be discovered.
Dream countries fascinate me; mine have always been colourful. The main landscape used to be completely wild, full of cliffs and forests. Then I started seeing bulldozers in my wild paradise. They filled me with dismay. Then towns started to appear, usually combinations of styles; oriental meets celtic, that kind of thing. For some reason, I always think of Greenwich, though I don't know why; in the old city or the new city or wherever it is I always find myself, there is a cathedral of gold/creamy coloured stone or perhaps carved wood with a slightly yellow sheen like sandalwood, sunk down where the earth has subsided. Sometimes I think the cathedral inhabits a vast subterranean cavern; the air above it is always very dark, I have never seen moon or sun shining on it. There is a graveyard on higher ground, very picturesque indeed, but next to the cathedral, sinking deep into the earth is a tunnel where very old habitations once were. It goes down and down...I have followed the tunnel to a turn when it slopes very deeply into the dark, and rockfalls indicate past cave-ins. I never go beyond that point, not out of fear but because something always happens to call me away. Too much to do.
Last night's new continent is one I have seen before from a dream fly-past/by-pass; Last night I was there for the first time and it was a little cold; if I had to give it a visual feelalike, it felt like a combination of Russian and Turkish cultures, but that doesn't really describe it at all. It is just the nearest to a point of reference I can give. It felt new, clean and cold and sunny with many mountains. A horseman/leader/important person type came riding past in a costume I really cannot describe without it sounding absurd, a tall head-dress and very few clothes on, though these were brightly coloured.
I must make some money and go travelling again.
There are other things I should be writing about (other things I should be doing, apart from time-wasting here!) so off I go.
It's a beautiful day.
