Tuesday is Flapping Day

Last tuesday it was a bat in the kitchen. Today it's a thrush in the front room. I should have known something was up when Surya kept trying to climb the inside of the chimney despite the fire being on. She just couldn't leave it alone. I put it out, because I would rather go cold than risk the little wally hurting herself. Everything got cold. Everything got peaceful. Then a thrush flew down through the flue, straight across my head and under the sofa. Q kitty madness as it flew around the room, hotly pursued by Surya, with Ralik joining in late. I got it to perch on my fingers for a moment while I opened a window, and away it flew.

Now the cats are traversing every. single. inch. of this house. I swear they think it's still here, hiding somewhere.

Autumn's a bit lively round here.

I dread to check out that flue. Suppose there are more up there?

How is Surya now? I guess she must be healing fast if she's doing that kind of thing?

She's fine. Much more careful about sudden noises and being stroked when she isn't expecting it, but apart from that, as affectionate as ever and possibly even more maniacal!

Thank you for asking:-)

You had a bat in the kitchen last week? I'm impressed. Was this delivered by a moog or a visit of free will do you know?

If only we knew! Russ was the lucky recipient of this particular Tuesday gift, I missed the drama. They were both horribly enthusiastic, but she particularly loves flying things. He just hates all life!

The birdie perched on your finger? You really are gearing up for your Mary Poppins role aren't you? We are all home now btw.

A few questions before I lace up my nanny boots and pack my gin:
When's a good time to contact Carrie? Is she bedridden or up and around?
And most of all, what's young Master's first name? I can't keep on calling him dogboy you know...
