Friday was spent at The Last Tuesday Club/Victor Wynd's Museum of Curiosities http://www.thelasttuesdaysociety.org/museum-curiosities/viktor-wynd-museum/#.XKHdEChKjIU which also entails a cocktail bar and free cup of tea, though you must remember to ask for it.

This place included some excellent examples of fine art (I always regretted not getting here in time to see the Austin Osman Spare exhibition, though some pieces are still there) and many strange objects including pornography, pubic hair, poo and pickled pigs. The cocktails were good but expensive, the wine very drinkable. It was an interesting night. A friend wants me to go back for their evenings based on the rituals of absinthe, but I have rather done this Victorian Decadence thing to death. Still.

And then there was a joint birthday present for us: theatre tickets, which taught me that I'm the sort of person who sees the cleverness in Fleabag but laughs like a drain at The Book of Mormon . Maybe it's because I'm tickled by inappropriateness and juxtaposition. I can't be shocked or made to giggle by Fleabag talking about some guy taking her up the arse, because it's happening in bed, so what? On an airport conveyor belt it might be interesting. I could give examples of why BOM works, but don't want to detract from a single moment of appalling hilarity. I was laughing like a terrible person all the way home.
