Not Happening

Been texting with Bro. The angioplasty plus stent insertion which was due to be carried out this morning was cancelled. They have confirmed that there's nothing wrong with his actual heart, no scar tissue etc, and therefore suspect the problem's in his veins, but this diagnosis needs the angiogram and they don't know when that will happen. The consultant wants him to stay in, quoting some stat that the chance of someone dying within a month of this kind of event is 1 in 20/30. Of course this is a blanket average including all sorts of co-morbidities, extremes and other factors. But still.

He is getting ready to check out of hospital tomorrow morning if there's no change in the state of play. I want to say, 'what kind of employer's going to get snitty about you not working when you've just had a heart attack?' In and of itself I would call that an ongoing stressful situation. But this is not the time for that conversation. So far I am keeping him cheerful with Dr Who gossip. Now he says he's going to try to write a bit, a sure sign he's feeling better.

Meanwhile, Mum wanted to talk about the 'hooligan' who is making her phone run low (she knows nothing about bro's problem of course, because the whole thing is as likely to do for her as for him), the local group needed to discuss controversial interpretations of history for the webpage, the burglar alarm went off for no reason, a mug started leaking without any sign of a crack, and I have given up trying to edit. It's just not going to happen today.
