Re: Outfit.
Date: 2006-03-16 07:37 pm (UTC)As for clothes, I having been skint for an age!
I can let you into a shopping secret, but you'll
a) be in the mood to trawl the shop
b) do not have something to specific in your head
I'll explain, TK MAX is fabulous for finding high brow fashion bargains and silly prices which fits me perfectly as i may be rather poor at the moment but i have unfortunately developed a keen sense of quality and cut however, at TK these usually marry off fine.
You will lose if you visit the store in a hurry and of a specific mission to find those trousers, shoes and top for the interview. The store is always a jumble and you're never going to find what you want in a rush! so no panicing!. You'll win if you have time on your hands, can visit at a quiet time (NOT weekends or after work or with a partner with no shopping patience) and are happy to mooch round the shop with no specific gameplan.
You can find Maharishi, Vivienne Westwood, Custo and Agent Provocateur ... (if you are truly lucky). Sure you can easily find Tommy, Ralph Lauren and DKNY but if you're like me and have a quirky sense of style then the rush comes from finding those really hard to afford names like the aforementioned Maharishi, fashion snob? Probably but you don't want to look like one of the sheep, and i only shop in the sale section :)
So i suppose that's the wonder of TK Max, if you have your own keen sense of style and are willing to trawl the shop you'll find some gems, just know what suits you, don't make silly purchases based on the name and remember, designer names are usually cut generously... You can still get that outfit on a bduget! remember you can't win them all, but you will at least find something.
And I've checked online ... Manchester does have a TKMAX...
And don't forget to book yourself into a magical Carrie makeover....
