Enough of my headspace!
May. 3rd, 2006 07:54 pmLet's talk about you.
LEAVE ME A COMMENT AND....
1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.
Never mind 'must,' tis a foolish word! Post the above on your journal if you feel like it. And if you are one of the lj friends I've never met, for 4 I'll try to pinpoint something I think we have in common, for 5 I'll give my first impression of you/your lj.

When I had drunk a good draught of sweet wine...
- Wife of Bath's tale or prologue - Chaucer
7. Since meeting up again at John S's party, I've often wondered why you asked me if I knew who you were!
no subject
Date: 2006-05-03 07:45 pm (UTC)I think I asked because you looked a little startled. People sometimes do of course, but I suddenly had the thought that you may not have a clue who I was and were thinking 'who is this loon gassing away at me?'

Date: 2006-05-03 07:52 pm (UTC)2. What's Eating Gilbert Grape? It's something about the way you can deal with out-of-this-world-yet-seen-every-day type weirdness. You can handle fantasy and real life and everything in between.
3. Lunch and a good long OOC conversation!
4. The magic of menstruation:-P
5. Earliest no, clearest was your face smiling benignly at a tent full of House Diamecht perverts, and your unstinting courtesy to a mad owl woman who wanted her feathers stroked by 'Tilly Two Jugs'.
6. Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down... '

But it can't sing and dance and it can't walk
as long as I can have you here with me
I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans...

By a knight of ghosts and shadows

Ten leagues beyond the wild world's end,
methinks it is no journey!
Tom O Bedlam's song - Anon
7. To me you seem a very intense, passionate person. What would you say is your greatest passion/obsession?
no subject
Date: 2006-05-03 10:55 pm (UTC)My passion would have to be my work. I love it so very much and get a real kick out of helping people enjoy and understand a historical period or site.
My obsession would probably be cryptic crosswords, though I'm better than I used to be and can put an unfinshed one aside after only an hour or so of pondering over the last few clues.

Date: 2006-05-04 12:24 pm (UTC)However, I have to admit that as much as I want these things I'd abandon them in a second for the chance to have a family. Not just children but that sense of belonging that comes with living with people you love and who love you in return.

6. There can only be one; Here's the whole poem for you.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
- Elizabeth B Browning

Date: 2006-05-04 05:06 pm (UTC)As for where would I like to live? Not such an easy one to answer as you might think. To be honest I don't think I can answer that at the moment. We put our flat on the market this very day in order to move in with the in-laws to look after them. We are planning on buying a holiday cottage somewhere on the south coast so that is probably the best answer I can give right now.
If you're not too bored yet?

6. Zephyr in the sky at night I wonder
Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun
She’s got herself a universe gone quickly
For the call of thunder threatens everyone
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
And I feel like I just got home
And I feel
Faster than the speeding light she’s flying
Trying to remember where it all began
She’s got herself a little piece of heaven
Waiting for the time when earth shall be as one
Quicker than a ray of light
Quicker than a ray of light
Quicker than a ray of light...

Re: If you're not too bored yet?
Date: 2006-05-09 09:22 pm (UTC)3 If you're free August Bank Holiday we always try to make the Small World Festival in Headstone in Kent. Simon's brother runs it, it's Solar Powered, kind of groovy, funky folky and jazzy, and better, really small about a thousand peeps tops, half of them non punters. several stages with different cool music, pretty hippified, a tree circle in the middle of the space, kids carnival, sams magic hat sauna, lots of art and crativity. you'd love it! Bring chums! If you are up for it, though you kind of need to book in advance, cos it tends to sell out by June/July time. http://www.smallworldsolarstage.org/smallworld/Dream.html
7. Yeah, all the time. And whenever I let it free, I feel deep shame, and karmic retribution comes. I remember the Morrigan testing me, a year of being hagridden by the crone, impatience, and anger, and no real justification for it. It got stored as magickal energy until the time when a friend wound me up, and I was soooo angry I could have released a psychic lightning bolt and fried his mind. I didn't. And ater that,it all cam clear, andI was granted a whold load of intuitions and insights, because I had refused the offer of raw power.
So now I kind of treat it like a stormy day, exult in it, lean into it, acknwledge it's there, bend with it, store the energy as power until it can be released at the right time. I guess it is always there, simmering, underneath, which is why so many people think I am scary woman. But at the end of the day, we all have a choice about what we do.
