This strange spring
Maybe we have two moons and no-one told me. Talk about random tides. A friend dies, another friend's baby is born, a friend prepares to say goodbye to her best beloved dog, another friend watches her child growing in her womb, all of it happening so close together. Sunny skies, frozen earth, I don't understand this Spring.

Sunny skies and cold cold air are a promise, like the flash of an ankle or a half hidden smile. Winter is still here, but the sun has not forgotten us, and light and warmth will return.

Boingggg!

Waiting for the right moment to leap out and astonish us all with her beauty.
But not quite yet. The huge bear of a man who is Winter doesn't want to give up the scepter right now, hanging on with a strength suprising for one so old, "perhaps next month" he says, "you don't want to strain yourself..."
And spring stands behind the curtain, patiently waiting her chance to blossom.
