So it worked...

In glorious absurdity. The Blue Moon Festival had so many hiccups and glitches I'm surprised we didn't all spontaneously combust in exasperation. But still, there it is, a strangeborn rather pretty thing. There's a delight and relief in having got it done. Do it again? yeah, like I'm that kind of idiot. Glad to have done it but never again!

We had some amazing talks, demons, shock shamanism in Africa, elementals, runes, guardians of the land, animal communications...the most powerful point of the day was the reworking and staging of Aleister Crowley's Liber Samekh, translated into Wiccan. Now this is a controversial conjuring, a piece of ceremonial magic meant to help one begin one's conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel. It is an obscure working, and I dreaded it because a) it's not particularly accessible and b) the rehearsal was a laughable shambles. I shouldn't have worried. Dazzling with charisma, our lead magicians explained it brilliantly, the audience understood and participated. I don't know if that's ever been done in public before. It seemed very powerful and constructive.

Then there was the party afterwards. Pleasant, though like the lightweight I am, I keeled over long before dawn.

More work, filming very soon, I'm running around trying to get everything together. My head feels like it's in a splint.

Thank you. I'm going to have to pen everything that went wrong with it at some point, to remind me of why I'm not doing it again...but I'm glad I did it! xx
