Soooooo Seeeeeek
Jan. 7th, 2011 05:53 amFor the second Xmas/New Year break in a row, I have been ill. Wrestled with it up to Xmas, paused for breath, convinced it was after all, only an excess of fatigue combined with a teeny virus. Towards New Year felt too ill to have the party we never quite planned and went round to a nearby chum's instead. I felt fine. Then I didn't.
Days spent in bed, high temperature, coughing up what appear to fistfuls of dire goo...I tried to do a day show. Before I went on, our scheduler asked if there was anything she could do. I suggested that she try to cover my breakfast show the following morning. Half way through my performance, our producer contacted her again; it wasn't a question of 'Could someone cover,' it was a simple '[Boot]can't do it. ' There was one particularly entertaining moment when I had a choking fit on air. Shame on you for not watching me nearly cark it on live TV! I experienced the alarming sensation of not being able to breathe fully. You know when you want your chest to expand but it just won't? You gasp, you're filling it with as much air as you can but it just seems to stop halfway? The nearest I've ever had to this phenomenon was whooping cough. This didn't even have interesting whoopnoises.I was wheezing like Steptoe's horse, with no-one there to change cameras as I approached infinity...
It's just so grim. I went home and I won't move now until monday morning, when I am supposed to be doing a brekkie show, and having pole dancing lessons in the evening.
