I need to work on second thoughts
Jan. 25th, 2018 03:43 pmYears ago, chums and I put together a Blue Moon festival. The idea was to celebrate magic, as well as some form of the 'Blue Moon' phenomenon. It went quite well (https://smokingboot.dreamwidth.org/337148.html)
but I promised myself never to do it again. Now the usual suspects have turned up with this idea for doing it 7 years on, March 31st of this year, presumably because that's a blue moon, though the new age gives us about 400 differing definitions of what that means. I said I would help and have been nominated MC again, because I seem unable to say No ... But after that first flush of thinking 'How cute,' I'm recalling the madness of the last one. It did nearly wipe me out, but if I stay away from organising, all could be fine; it's that important moment of hearing 'Could you possibly...' And refusing politely. The last one was held at the Bedford Arms, which is great but a bit tired now, looking forward to the new venue.
So, Ok, a little magic. The world needs it.
