smokingboot57 and I still love my birthday every time! I suddenly wonder what I will want to do for my 60th, assuming I'm still around. Another safari? Today what am I doing? Late sitting at Scotts of Mayfair courtesy of R, gifts which I will talk about later if it doesn't feel braggy, and my gift to myself; a new Mtdna test, so I can check the maternal line. I find myself only marginally interested in actual knowable relatives, more fascinated by early stuff that almost becomes legend! Less a student understanding, more a child pootling about. It intrigues me so much it might be worth making up with Bro for. What a conversation that would be:
Me: Let's be friends.
Bro: OK!
Me: Now give me a swab from your cheek.
Bro: Fuck off. Is that why you wanted to be friends?
Me: Yes.
Bro: Then fuck off again.
Me: Oh come on, be useful for a change.

Mum tells me she has sent me two cards. This means she remembered late, and expects neither to turn up on time.
