Quite apart from damning the damnable, I'm just surprised that this has turned up in the Brexit supporting one-time Boris supporting Sunday Times. Feels to me that rational tories are beginning to look elsewhere, because he just can't do the job, and perhaps irrational ones fear his lack of dedication to Brexit. Either way, it's a quick shakedown after all that doting nonsense last week.
Boris never really cared about Brexit, it was all about getting into power. He might have the sense to turn things around if the economy takes such a beating we can't afford to give up a large job market on our doorstep.
But Michael Gove is a true believer. Due to being a charmless creature he may never win an election in the country, so stepping in while the Tories are in power could be his only chance. Of course, then we have another set of problems...
