The perfect end to the week

smokingbootR and I went to our favourite Indian restaurant in Edinburgh for dinner. We were probably too tired to really enjoy it, but life and stuff has made us postpone our reservation three times and it just felt rude not to go.
Came back, rashly told my mother what we had done, she informed me that if I was doing this kind of thing 'on purpose to worry' her, I was doing a great job. Her latest terror is the Covid variant coming out of India, which in her book means I should avoid all things of the sub-continent, possibly up to and including talking about it. She signed off with a curt little 'good night,' and has been in no mood for contact this morning.
She's going to be a laugh a minute when she learns about our Cambodia/Vietnam trip.
