Death of a Bee

Went out to my garden to smell the roses. The very first one I lifted was white pink with a dead bee at its centre. The rose fell apart and bee and petals tumbled to earth together.

I get that bees don't have long lives, and I suppose if one is going to die, spending those last seconds in the heart of what you love, something beautiful that fills your own heart, is the best possible way to go.

I get it. But still I am sad.
