Better!
Thanks to the suggestion of Mallorys_Camera re Becoming Elizabeth . Enjoyed it soundly, really nice depictions of the Seymour brothers among others, and a nice view one seldom sees of Edward Seymour as the man who would make the trains run on time, working in council, fighting in battle, compared to his brother who is just about the rodgering complete with semi-coital puzzlement over why this isn't enough to give him ultimate power.
Haven't seen any dud performances yet, fab stuff!
Spoke to Mum, a normal, pleasant conversation. If I remember that this is good, that intermittent issues are not the end of the world, I'll be fine.
It's 6.40 am, and the sun is shining. I'm holding out for a fine day.

But I feel the same as you do re Elizabeth. E1 has always been my homegirl, the historical celebrity of whom I would have liked to be a reincarnation! And here the lustre is removed for me, it's a credible rendering I guess, but she's a bit ordinary waiting to become extraordinary. I know that's the point... so why she doesn't hold me is the mystery. As you say, the actress is just not up to quite the same standard as the others.
