I need...
peace; An intensity of rest; pity from a pychotic friend with a trank gun. Unconsciousness for a week would only be part of it. The weekend offered many delights, but tranquility was not one of them. I am not fussy about snoring - everybody does it from time to time and it's no big deal - but the combination of alcohol and hacking coughs made the night varied and colourful in its stimuli. Then my love got the most harrowing flu/chest cold thing, and has since spent the week coughing, I swear, every 20 seconds. Not his fault (don't worry my darling, I am not blaming you!)but I got no sleep whatsoever, and this from a woman who has spent drunken stupors folded up in a kitchen sink.
There is way too much to think about, too much to even write about. I need refreshment of the mind and yet I'm too knackered to respond to it - we were going to see Macclesfield Amdram's rendition of Anna Karenina tonight but my love's illness saved me. Another day I will rev myself up for culture... I have poured some aromatherapeutic stuff called 'Serenity' into the bath I'm running. It's blue-purple so it must work.
Yes, there is important stuff out there, and in here too. But it will all have to wait until I am human again.
CLXXX. "A slumber did my spirit seal" - William Wordsworth
A slumber did my spirit seal;
I had no human fears:
She seem'd a thing that could not feel
The touch of earthly years.
No motion has she now, no force;
She neither hears nor sees;
Roll'd round in earth's diurnal course
With rocks, and stones, and trees.
Thank you William. Goodnight.
