Not dark, just dim

The 24 hour fast to try to kill this tummy bug is nearly over. My stomach has been cramping if I put anything at all into it, including chamomile tea which I have been drinking to stay hydrated. It feels to me that the cramps seem less severe and they turn up less frequently, but I'm not sure I'm starving this bug out or if it just waits. Going to try to eat something bland in a couple of hours, if that doesn't work, then maybe another fast. Or I don't know.
This is so weird. Do lurking infections just wait til Covid lays resistance low and then pounce all at once?
I've never been this sick in my life! My body's like a crossroads for symptoms!
Watched Don't Worry Darling and Leave the World Behind
The first is hopelessly derivative, with such obvious and well known movie precedents I can't even mention them without spoiling the whole damn thing. Chris Pine is OK at being creepy/sinister, Harry Styles slides off my eyes, but Florence Pugh has something that keeps me watching. The end is unnecessarily cryptic, a case of trying way too hard. Sometimes a clean finish is the best option.
By contrast, Leave The World Behind is made by its ending. It's got a spectacular cast (Julia Roberts being mean, Kevin Bacon being wry, Ethan Hawke wishing he knew things and Mahershala Ali wishing he didn't know things) and a very interesting premise. I am not sure it is superbly paced but the hold was strong enough to keep me there, or maybe I was just grateful for anything after Don't Worry Darling. The nearest I have to real criticism is that perhaps there was a better way of getting the exposition across, though hard to work out how. It's done with as light a touch as possible I guess, which is more than can be said for the score. You get a lot of Be Ready! in this film.
The end gets me. If we go, that's how we go, I'm sure of it.
But that's a big if. Not long now before St Lucy's day, then the Longest Night, and after that comes the return of the Light. Got to hold on to that when everything seems so plaguey painful. So I must crawl out of my pit of suspense thrillers and police procedurals, get rid of what ails me, and start being Mrs Christmas.

If you have been prescribed oral medications that your body is not absorbing, I would tend to see that as an issue. Is your GP the gatekeeper for your medical issues? If so, I would at least bring that up. It could well be a non-issue. But if you're unable to absorb the medications, you're not receiving treatment.
