In response to the request by [personal profile] mallorys_camera, here is the horary chart I cast on hearing about the attacks on Iran. The underlying question is 'Will this lead to a world war?' I know, dramatic, but it's the big one.

Here's one interpretation of it, not to be taken too seriously. It's just woo after all. I hope. But very interested to hear other ideas on it, interpretations welcome! To those who don't know much about it, the story starts at 9 on the clock point and runs counter-clockwise around, with each symbol meaning a planet or mathematical point that has a bearing on the matter. Each pizza slice shaped division = an area of influence.

I put it behind a cut because it's long, and very dull to someone not interested.

First the warning:
The ascendant - that is, the sign on the 9 o clock line - is 0 degrees Cancer, technically a stricture before judgment meaning 'it is too early to tell.' These warnings come from a time when astrologers had to calculate by sticking rods in the earth. Now we can calculate to the second, so accidents based on sloping ground that buggers everything up are far less likely. The stricture may not be relevant, or it might mean there is too much info missing to reach an iron conclusion.

Traditional horary does not use the outer planets, because these had not been discovered, but if they are ever going to be necessary it's going to be in a global question like this one, so I have used them.

Three astrological goforits encourage me to keep this chart.
a) The ascendant of Cancer matches the birth sign of the instigator, the United States.
b) This also matches the sign - and ascendant -  of the Querent, me.
c) The Lord of the Hour is the Moon, agreeing perfectly and ruling the ascendant. This would indicate the chart is radical and fit to be read, but it does no harm to remember we do not have all the info.

For war, we look at instigator (Cancer 1st house = US) versus enemy (Capricorn 7th House = Iran).

Cancer is on that 9 on the clock line, which means that in this chart, the first house belongs to it. In that first house is a fantastic placement, Jupiter. Each planet has a sign it calls home, its rulership. But there is inevitably another house in which it gets a divine touch, called 'exalted'. Jupiter is exalted in the sign of Cancer and there it is, big benign, powerful, generous, The WinnerTM.

Jupiter also inhabited the sign of Cancer in the most popular birth chart of the United States, 4th July 1776. But right now it is retrograde, retreading an old path, repeating a pattern. It can mean more introspection and thoughtfulness to come, but the US needs to remain wary. When Jupiter looks to the astrologers eye as though it is going backwards, even the big jock everwinner will experience retreat/rethinking/retrenchment. While this is one of the best placements in the zodiac, nothing is total protection. Jupiter was in Cancer when the tragedy of the twin towers occurred. This horror led to greater protections for the homeland if I understand correctly but still. Caution, not bombast. Jupiter, often equated with Zeus, knows all about how to deal with overconfident daddies.

For war to occur, ye olde worlde wagglebeards tell us that the ruler of the first house (in this case, the moon, ruler of Cancer = US) must be in opposition to the ruler of the seventh (in this case, Saturn ruler of Capricorn = Iran), plus for any question about conflict, look at Mars. If he's not firing off, rest easy, or at least easier.

Great news: no opposition between the moon and Saturn. Very good.
In fact, the ruler of the seventh house, Saturn the enemy, is visiting the 11th house, sign of good will, friends and allies. I'd expect a treaty.

Despite ruling the first house, the moon is visiting Leo in the second house. Second house rules personal finances, wealth, resources, stuff. There's cash behind this somewhere.

Meanwhile Saturn, representing the enemy, is in Aries, where Saturn hates to be. This is Saturn's fall, exhausted and weak. He's conjunct Neptune so either he's sleepy and doesn't know what is going on or he's a sneaky beggar who hides in confusion. Or both.

But there's no contest here, in fact, almost immediately, we see the trine, that is an angle of around 120 between the Moon and Saturn. That is an extremely friendly aspect. Saturn here here is almost powerless, though look to his friends (more about that later). The trine speaks of some form of truce/treaty.

But this might not be the end of the story.

The Moon faces a nasty opposition but not to this utterly weakened Saturn.

Sitting right across the table from the Moon awaits Pluto, lord of the dead in Aquarius, sign of the cosmic tech bro. The opposition completes in 3 units of time, whatever that means, I can never translate planetary movements into actual timing. For all I know this could be three years or three decades.

But the strong implication is one of serious possibly dangerous ramifications tied to technological advance. Weapons build up and re-armament would be a reasonable interpretation. Vengeance is another. Pluto, Lord of Hades, does not forget and he does not fear death, even death of the many. They are his legions after all. Best not to interest him too much. The very good news is that he does not aspect Mars, lord of war. They are not interested in each other at this time. This doesn't exactly defuse the situation but it helps.

Pluto sextiles (that is makes an angle of about 60 degrees) to Saturn in this chart, and the sextile is a friendly aspect. Whoever this opposing other is, they are not inimical to Iran, the foe represented by Saturn.

We look to the Lord of War, Mars, without whom no conflict can move. He's also in Aquarius, again we are looking at the development of wartech. He and the Moon are not in opposition yet, but they will be. The moon moves into this opposition just before she leaves Leo. So that's the soldier against the people, if we take one astrological aspect of the Moon as indicating the vox populi, but if we stick to the usual it's still Warrior vs Mother, seldom a happy meeting. This is a strong indicator of conflict, but at its lightest, it can just be internal, protests etc. Even so, fierce and regrettable.

Considering Mars, he isn't going toe to toe with Pluto but he's still up for trouble. Mars directly squares (that is, it makes an angle close to 90 degrees, considered harsh) to Uranus, the tech lord, the lightning bolt, the shocker, the bomb. To add to that intensity, Uranus is on Caput Algol, most malign fixed star in the sky, also called 'The Pile of Corpses.' Mars is smacking this star around too.

This is a bloody hell moment. Mars is in the 10th house, highest point in the sky, Uranus is in the 12th house, the unknown place, 'from out of nowhere.' Hidden antagonists will learn fast. The lessons are very obvious to them.

Uranus and Caput Algol and the square from Mars are conjunct Donald Trump's natal birthchart midheaven, his reputation, the height of his standing. He will be remembered for this, and he's not immune from lightning bolts himself. Eastern astrology calls Caput Algol 'The Pile of Corpses,' in Western astrology, it is called 'The Head of the Demon,' and rules immense power as well as uncontrollable rage/madness/violence. It's the Targaryen tossed coin.

Caput Algol is connected mythically with the head of Medusa. Important to keep in mind that while Medusa is killed, she lives on as a protective aegis, an unbreachable breastplate. If you want to take the myth further, from her blood springs Pegasus, a giant with a golden sword, poisonous snakes, coral, and potions of life and death. She's very magical and important in the astrological profile of Donald Trump. I'd feel more secure if Mars and Uranus would quit poking her.

Might be worth looking at what was happening around him on 23rd/24th Feb, because that is when the square from Mars was exact to his midheaven, but again, timings eh. Leaving the personal behind, from the 23rd through to the end of February it was all moving very fast.

Conclusion: Truce and victory, but extremely volatile circumstances, retreat, repercussions.  Later or ongoing confrontation from a ruthless sneaky enemy who learns(!) has strong abilities in new technology based warfare. Major ramifications to come, can't get past the possibility of bad stuff. Also, someone's out for cash. The arse-biter may not bite today, but it will bite.

But maybe not, maybe just woo, the dismayed human seeking a story about something far beyond its influence. All we can do right now is hope for peace and prosperity and safety all around. I'm going to believe we'll get there in the end.

Ohhhhhh, you are good! 😀

Mars in 8th house Aquarius is the strongest prognosticator of all-out war that I can see. However, it's not on an angle, nor is it in mutual square or opposition with Saturn or the chart angles, which would be the definitive signature for all-out war. That 8th house placement suggests all the covert reasons for the conflict—debt, death, shared resources, oil/financial system, etc, etc.

Excellent analysis!
