or none perhaps. I have recently been witness (by proxy) to some pretty hypocritical slobbering between two whose mutual regard has all the sincerity of an empty kleenex box. I would take a bath except that I've just had one and my skin is still crawling.

Dishonesty makes me cringe. I know we all do it when we are embarrassed, or trying to stay out of trouble, but I don't understand those who need it. So I guess the best thing for me to do is try(!) to withhold judgement (yes I know I've already failed) and perhaps rethink my association with such people. Having made that decision, it is encumbent upon me to dismiss this grump.

Had an excellent night in the company of larians, lauremer and bad_moon_rising, much maelstrom froth, much beer, but alas, no Call of Cthulhu. The froth took over. The secret of enjoying Maelstrom (http://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/) seems to be to go in with a function in mind; Knowing what you want to be might not be enough, or at least it wasn't for me: You need a strong idea of what you want to do. Fortunately, our group has something people want, so we're busy. Add to that our backbone of amazing roleplayers, and we totally rock!

There is another matter pressing upon my mind, and I can neither express it here, nor in my own thoughts clearly. So instead I had better prepare for work.

Similarly sometimes people who don't like each other can come to tacit working arrangments to avoid the discomfort of those around them - sort of "I may never be your friend but we don't have to have the kind of out and out warfare that'll make innocent bystanders uncomfortable". Just a thought.

I don't call that dishonesty - that's something one does to keep one's friends happy and to starve the punters; you know, the ones who don't have enough drama in their life so they will happily milk someone else's. My feelings are not entertainment. Unless I am pushed beyond endurance, I have no intention of pouring a pint over someone's head/stabbing someone with a fork for the enjoyment of the braindead.

The instance in my post is totally different to that. It is a particular simpering example, and I have probably been a bit harsh in my description. But only a bit!
