Tuesday is Flapping Day
Sep. 27th, 2005 01:35 pmLast tuesday it was a bat in the kitchen. Today it's a thrush in the front room. I should have known something was up when Surya kept trying to climb the inside of the chimney despite the fire being on. She just couldn't leave it alone. I put it out, because I would rather go cold than risk the little wally hurting herself. Everything got cold. Everything got peaceful. Then a thrush flew down through the flue, straight across my head and under the sofa. Q kitty madness as it flew around the room, hotly pursued by Surya, with Ralik joining in late. I got it to perch on my fingers for a moment while I opened a window, and away it flew.
Now the cats are traversing every. single. inch. of this house. I swear they think it's still here, hiding somewhere.
Autumn's a bit lively round here.
I dread to check out that flue. Suppose there are more up there?
