Have done something which scared me to death, and must remember that I am still learning. So I write this here to remind myself not to fret:

Do not fret, Boot!

The last few days have been made delightful by the company of november_girl, ephraim, evilwillow and cyanidemigraine. I am looking forward to the company of falco_biarmicus and Neil sans lj tomorrow. There's no Crimbo prezzy to rival excellent chummery.

Things feel magic right now and I can't explain why, but Gretel Erlich sums it up perfectly;

'The landscape is engorged with detail, every movement of it chillingly sharp. The air between people is charged. Days unfold, bathed* in their own music. Nights become hallucinatory; dreams prescient.'

* I originally typ(o)ed this as 'basted' which doesn't have quite the same resonance. Curious thing, the English language.

Thank you! The ones I have seen you use are beautiful and unique. I haven't seen similar anywhere else.

But to my shame, I can't create even basic ones! Kind friends have taken pity on my lack of talent, and made me loads I haven't had the opportunity to use yet.

The criminal mastermind in this area of endeavour has been illuminating_dragon who just makes the most incredibly lovely icons, including the porcupine, the jester, etc. It's all her fault that I got a paid account, just so I could play with the icons she made, and I'm so addicted I'm even thinking of buying more userpic space!
