I only know cos I just spotted a tiny blind penis lookalike striding purposefully across the surface of the den, far from Freak's teats.

I could murder the furry tart. Gerbils can delay pregnancies. She wouldn't give birth until the babies are fully weaned, and many gerbils delay for weeks. Well, litter number one officially finished weaning yesterday, their six week birthday. She's popping more sprogs today. Oh Freak, and I thought we understood each other.

What the hell am I going to do now? Larians just gazed at them and said 'They're your responsibility.' Then he thought about it and said, 'We separate the males tomorrow.' Might be too late. The little sods come into heat on the day they give birth. She may be pregnant again, even now. Damn that rodent strumpet!

Good news is that putting her in with her daughters shouldn't endanger the pups, as they are nowhere near sexual maturity, so one problem is solved. Quite what I am going to do with all these frigging gerbils is beyond me!
