They're here. And they're, er, a bit odd...

But hopelessly beautiful. Here's to kittens!

I know, they'll just become ordinary English black-and-whiters who sit on the window sill and get a bit stocky in old age, but I don't care. They are gorgeous.

They robbed me of sleep on Friday night. We put them in their cosy little bed in the kitchen, only they disapeared and I couldn't see them. So I went to bed and worried, and got up in the middle of the night to check on them. They had still disapeared. I searched that kitchen in growing panic, panic which crystalised into despair when I spotted a teenymoog tail under the fridge. My heart shrivelled inside me. Oh God, no, I thought, the poor little dudes have somehow got themselves trapped under the fridge, please don't let them be dead, or hurt, or...but then I pulled myself together. If the kittens were dead, my love would not come down in the morning to witness their staved in skulls flattened beneath the cruel weight of our white goods, not while I could prevent it. And anyway, maybe one of them was alive. I had to hope. So I emptied the fridge, tilted the whole thing up and forward, and there, down at the back where the cylinder (?)sits, were two little imp faces staring baffled at the naked wild-eyed human with the fridge door balanced against her chest.
Real life? 3-dimensional objects? Physics? Commonsense? Not in my posse thank you. I'll stick to theories about voodoo.

Saturday and sunday passed in most excellent company, good food, some of it eaten, some of it worn, some of it sprayed across the walls in a style reminiscent of Jackson Pollock, or maybe that's just me. Sunday culminated in watching the antics of our familiars and a great tabletop session of roleplay in the Underdark, perfect for Halloween!

Last but not least, blessings of Samhain to those who want them. To you, whether you ascend or descend, over the hills or under the ways, down to the sea, or into the city, may your love lead you.

Here's to the Hunt, to Winter and to Work!
