Eating with friends

Lj ate my last entry. No matter, long ramblings about work anyway. So instead...

Thank you to the_lore and her partner Steve, for a beautiful present, a silver chain with a butterfly of amethyst and mother of pearl. Where are you, woman? I seek you on MSN to no avail!

Big thanks to deadmandancing, evilwillow and cyanidemigraine plus others for a long and luxurious night of very nice sushi and conversation. Who says that Japanese food is healthy? Tiny baked alaskas in thick batter, covered with a honey sauce and seaweed? The Nippon take on profiteroles is every bit as delicious and hard on the arteries as that old Scottish stand-by, the deep fried mars bar. Still, it's all organic so it must be good for you;-)

And then there was a lovely evening and morning in the company of falco_biarmicus and _deadeye in which once again, their exemplary politeness as guests rose to the occasion. Twice when they've visited, we have been too tired to cook, so they did the hard work. This time, we phoned a take out which took two hours and left out one person's meal entirely. This turned up 30 minutes later. Still, despite this, we had an excellent night's company, and I hope we can do it again soon, preferably complete with dinner all present and correct! falco_biarmicus mentioned clubbing, and it suddenly occurred to me that I haven't been to Jilly's for ages and have no real opportunity to do so before the end of September. I love my work, but it is eating my life.

And today? Today I am conscious of the fact that I'm travelling again tomorrow and should be packing and planning. As a result I am doing absolutely nothing.
