Shaved Cat
Mar. 31st, 2010 12:38 pmIt is a universally accepted truth that witches, bagladies and ex-models have one thing in common; in the end, they all turn into crazy catpeople. You may know of some exceptions, but I daresay very few. One such metamorphosis was that of the famous model, Celia Hammond, into the creator of a cat charity. Now the Celia Hammond Trust is a much trusted though inundated force for feline good, and last year sometime did a major rescue on a house which contained (and I quote the numbers as I was told them) 54 cats, 4 dogs, 2 pygmy goats and a pigeon.
I know what happened to two of the cats. A friend of mine adopted them. These had unfortunately had been kept indoors all their lives, and therefore it was deemed necessary for them to stay house cats, cos they had no background of adapting to outer environments. One beautiful orange and black character had an abscess on his tail so long untreated, said tail had to come off. He has a cute little stump now. His grey brother needed shaving for ringworm and bathing once a week. How he hated it! And now and now...
Well, it's called a lion cut. The fur is kept short on the body and tail, with a little fullness on the legs, around the neck and a tassel effect on the tail end. The grey persian looks gorgeous, and you can see how he moves, graceful and purposeful. I know everyone thinks the point of a pedigree persian is its long coat, I dunno anymore, the persian lion is just irredeemably good looking and gets spoilt to death just by smiling at us out of his big grey face and white whiskers. My friend adores him. We all adore him. So...
Note to self; if I ever own a Persian cat, I will consider this pretty and convenient cut.
Other note to self;
larians will never agree to a fifth cat.
Last note to self: I wonder what happened to the pigeon?
