From the Sublime...
Apr. 16th, 2014 08:50 am...to Peter Jackson.
Maybe it was my fault for watching True Detective beforehand. Everyone has raved about TD, so there's no point joining them except to say it kicks everything else on TV into a cocked hat.
And then there's The Hobbit.
The most pithy review of the film was repeated gleefully across the web: 'I can't believe they made a film about walking.'
That's it really.
Good things about DoS include the voice of Cumberpatch and the sheer Mardi Gras quality of Thranduil. If the currently caged Gandalf is suddenly released by a giant eagle with lockpicking powers I may well stop watching right then, and drown the DVD in our fishtank.
