I do like the waning moon. Tonight it's out there looking like someone getting their head faintly gnawed on and considering it an OK way to spend an evening. It's got a gold peachy tinge at the centre, and a very faint red gleam along the topmost edge.

Reading [livejournal.com profile] happybat's journal reminded me a little bit of the past, when LJ was just that bit more buzzy and busy. That train of thought widened somewhat into a general consideration of the last 10 years. There are people I may never see again and I miss them, there are others whose absence from my life I can bear with remarkable and, I trust, lifelong ease. But it surprises me just who belongs in which category.

And none of it is sad, not for those I miss, not for those I don't, not for me.
