I just found a bumblebee in our sink, surrounded by coffee dregs. It staggered around unhappily, looked as though it was dying. It crawled onto my finger without a fuss. I took poor bee outside and placed it on my sunflower, where it whiffled around for a long time. Got an egg cup full of water and sprinkled some on the petals in case it was thirsty, and I started to cry.
Bit tired is all, tired of death.
Its wings gradually ungummed. It drank, took some pollen, spread its wings and bimbled off into the sky. I'm still crying, but am delighted.
