They want to make every school in England an academy. I have no knowledge of the quality or otherwise of academies, but someone's going to make a very pretty penny out of it:

Pupils may or may not benefit. Tory party donors definitely benefit, the private sector definitely benefits.Having seen the overhaul to the benefits system and the changes planned for the NHS, I am surprised at anyone who thought schooling would be exempt.
Down to parents now... a very powerful demographic, if they choose to do something, if indeed, they consider it a battle at all. It might be that they consider this step an improvement. But I suspect not.
