Alkanet and purple deadnettle, herb robert and dandelions, daisies and bluebells...It's very pretty out there.
Took a short cut through a field, found a little overgrown path carpeted in petals. The hedgerows are snowdrifts of chervil and mayblossom. The trees, I swear, look happy. I saw one old grandee with dangling catkins; he dipped his branches down in the high grass, like a diver testing poolwater.
The birds are ecstatic, bees are swarming all over our apple tree, and there are hundreds of midges, which might explain why I've been seeing more bats around in the twilight.
It's all good. There's stuff too, but stuff can wait.
