Looming: Adam, Eve, the Garden

I'm looking forward to Ramblin' Man, albeit with no clue as to what I want to see. We're staying in a hotel rather than doing the camping thing. In the meantime I continue to work slowly and cluelessly, with another idea turning up in my head, a passionate diversion or a much stronger basis for a story, I don't know. I always start strong!

The depression that's been haunting me since the death of poor Scabcat, is kind of countered by sunshine, provided I stay away from social media, politics and any combination thereof. I am not always my own best friend...

I've been looking once again at Gnostic gospels recently. It's like a divine soap opera that makes Lucifer seem thoroughly tame. There's the Big One, the father-mother who issues from the Big One, their kids (the aeons), one of whom (Sophia; 'Wisdom') tries to make a being without the permission or involvement of anyone else, the result being her son who is malformed, a sort of lion-faced dragon/serpent thing. She hides him from the other aeons, so they don't know about him and he doesn't know about them, but he has enough of his mother's light and power to mimic the creative process. (Question: how does he mimic what he hasn't seen?) He creates his own offspring, the archons. In my head the aeons and archons face off like Jets and Sharks out of West Side Story. Who then is Officer Krupke? I digress. Dragon-Lion-Faced-Bastard also creates a world for his archons to live in, and declares himself sole ruler of that world. His mum, realising that locking her kid in the celestial closet has not brought out the best in him, goes to the other archons for help. They agree.

Then the voice of the original Big One is heard, reverberating across the roof of Dragon-Lion-Faced-Bastard's world, to the immediate freaking out of DLFB and his archons. The voice leaves a kind of trace image on said roof (which seems to be liquid, as though DLFB's world is at the bottom of a sea, looking up, so that his sky is the surface of the water) and DLFB and the archons work together to create a copy of the trace image in order to... I don't know, capture its essence? What? How does that work? Anyhoooooo... That first creation is Adam.

Part of the Aeons great plan to downpower DLFB comes down to deceiving him into infusing Adam with his own spiritual essence, effectively through breathing into the body of the first man. This brings Adam to life and drains DLFB of the power derived from his mother. The moment it happens, seeing the superiority of Adam, DLFB and his archons try to imprison him in a false paradise, in order to neutralise him. Here, they allow him the tree of life but forbid him the tree of knowledge. In this story, knowledge is considered positive, and Christ reveals himself to be the tempter who persuades Adam to taste it. Eve is a helper sent to liberate the light trapped within Adam and in all of DLFB's creation. And so it goes on.

It's another way to describe the fall/rise of Man, and I'm sure whoever the tempter is, he/she/whatever would be proud. After all, the light within speaks for itself:

Revealing something about myself...

to show solidarity with a friend. It's the right thing to do, but it still causes me distress.

Still, sometimes you have to take a little discomfort. Discomfort passes. Even writing it down like this, I help it to pass. And the solidarity remains.
