Deep Breath
Jul. 12th, 2018 11:07 pmWell, that was not the easiest birthday I have ever had.
But lots of extremely kind well wishers, excellent friends... It cheered me up immensely.
All's well. She wanted just to forget the whole thing, and we spent my birthday doing what she likes best and thinks I should like best; shopping. That woman shops like some people pray. Still it turned into a better day, and I saw The Termagent that night. She is almost entirely bedridden and slow of speech, but her edges and mischief are still there.
We discussed the illness and how I can respond to it. My aunts consider my idea of coming to stay here for 3 months kindly but futile. 'She will always be delighted to see you,' advised lovely Aunt F, 'But on the day you say something like there are no voices coming from the lights, she will be angry with you.'
She's right. A better plan, if I can afford it, would be to come for a long weekend each month, or every two months.
Anyway, today is the last time I go visit Mum on this trip, because tomorrow I'm off to meet the Hubby arriving in Malaga. And then it is all about Cordova, Seville, Granada again but this time purely to enjoy the Alhambra...My uncle warns me that it will be hot beyond absurdity of course, and a great deal of time may well be spent by the pool. That suits me fine. I need a holiday.

I recognised it from somewhere, before she poured it on my wrist.
'Oxygenated water!' She said, 'Great for healing!' I had a scratch, no idea where it came from, I'm just clumsy. So she was taking no chances and poured this stuff all over my wrist, and it stung like buggery, leaving a peculiar white trail of raised flesh.
'Oh just rise it with ordinary water,' she said, 'It'll go down.'
She was right. But what is this strange magical water that heals but needs rinsing off with non-magical water?
H2O2...
Did she just cover my arm in Hydrogen Peroxide?
