I woke up to this screenshot from my cousin-in-law;

Yup, that's my bro.

She comments 'Wow, that was so rude can not even believe it'

Well, yes, it is pretty unbelievable but it's also par the course. I have mitigated as best I can because honestly I know he meant it as a compliment. It's just his contrarianism, his despisal of tact, this awful antagonistic style he has that makes everything sound like an insult. Besides, brutally speaking if this was late last night, he had probably come home from the pub ultra drunk.

She is sharply intelligent and quite sensitive. This last isn't an excuse for him.

Coming to England was not easy for her. She was very homesick, then along came Brexit and she, like so many, felt very unwelcome. It was extremely painful. This is why I don't forgive Brexiters; they hurt people for vanity and for prejudices that required examination rather than pandering. The result has been lack in the fields, on the shelves, in the shops, in the garages, over 150,000 dead and the most negligent and crooked government in centuries.

Ironically, she is now in a position where they could go back to Spain and she at least could get a job. And I think she should. Despite her daughter becoming brilliantly bi-lingual, she is not going to be happy here.

She needs family, a sense of home, she detests, as do most sane people, what the UK seems to be becoming. There is no point eating anger every single day. Her husband is a lovely amenable man, her child is at the stage where she can readily adapt linguistically, it is time.

Me, I am more embarrassed for my country than for my brother, and that's saying something.
