Well, that was turgid.

The end was OK I guess. Bond's little scene with M re the desk is the best thing in the film. I feel for Felix Leiter...

But Gawd, Grunge Bond rolls on ever more raddled, approaching Roger Moore levels of absurdity with crease-free squeezes, and villains everywhere, Rami Malek totally wasted. The whole film could have been cut by half - or in half - as an improvement.

Still, it's always good to go out.

Shall I irritate myself further by expounding upon the shambolic near if not actual criminality of this government? Best not. What I should do is remind myself that when it comes to real public outcry, they are perfectly capable of U turns, as they just demonstrated. BJ does not care about the well being of others, but he likes to be popular, the only benchmark that matters to him. It makes his government much more, er, flexible than that of some full blooded fanatic who prays before the altar of free markets every night. He's no ideologue.

Very soon my mood should be massively improved. Fingers crossed, let's see if it happens.
