I used to do an end of year list of Q/As about the year just passed; the highs and lows, achievements disappointments. Now, it takes too long and tells too little for me to bother.

2021 was a strange oppressive year. Work was not easy, health unreliable, expected pleasures were deferred or lost, and our very dear cat Surya died. Poor Robert Price met his last day too. However, two people I care for fought off death successfully, one from covid, one from cancer. Friends were wonderful, full of life and art and observation, brightening dismal days.

I began to explore the haunted lands of Lothian, and found myself wandering the ancient underworld of Malta. Ancestors were revealed and brought amazing stories with them. I learned a hell of a lot, though still not enough.

I guess the learning will be a lifelong thing. Another thing I learned was how to paint a room; I made mistakes, but again, learning, learning. That was the great positive of 2021.

Onwards then, to another year, with new achievements and adventures! To any passing this way, I wish you the most fantastic fun, and all you could wish for in 2022.

Happy New Year! ❤️
