Tired, much stuff to do, and some of it's boring but easy, while some of it is mechanical and hard.
The local story competition went very well. We want to offer the museum a copy of all the stories, a memento book, so the children's efforts become part of the area's lore, something to feel part of and proud of. One day (let's assume there is a one day) the book might be interesting from the social history point of view. And lots of it is adorable and praiseworthy. But.
It has fallen to me to sort this out, and I am no good at this kind of thing. I am supposed to be looking for estimates, but in order to get those I need to know how many pages the book will comprise, and in order to arrive that information, I need to take all the google files, stick them in one huge document, go through and edit them (surnames and names of schools must be taken out) create the intro page explaining what this was all about, and then somehow find a printing option that's good for Google docs with colour pics, because I don't have a Word option. Google pages are about 1.6 times bigger than a normal page. I know nothing about formatting beyond generic manuscript presentation, and haven't the faintest idea about page thickness and book size.
I am daunted.
So much so that I may put this off and actually do housework instead because it's easier. That's how nervous I am, awake since before 6, feeling tense. It's just as well my brain is empty of inspiration right now, this should be the perfect headspace for editing/formatting, the nuts and bolts of creating a physical object out of a manuscript.
I've had three cups of tea and two cans of diet coke, and I still want to hide/go back to bed.
You know, I think the dishwasher needs loading. I may be gone some time...
