Received news, not as such - not bad at all in fact - but something that made me a little sad, a conversation with my cousin-in-law reveals that they are returning to Spain permanently in August. They mentioned this before, but with the dead landlord and the need to move out alongside the ridiculous prices of housing in London and the sheer faff of seeking work elsewhere (they looked at hospitals in Scotland but...) they decided that now was time to head home. It makes sense as my cousin-in-law has never really enjoyed England, arriving as she did because there was no way for her to work in Spanish healthcare due to a bizarre system whereby in order to work in hospitals you need points but you get points through working in hospitals. Despite all her qualifications she effectively had to emigrate for work. It was not easy for her. However, nearly 10 years in the NHS does provide such points so now it's all possible. Other things have come together too. I've long suspected that this was the right direction for them, but wish things had been a bit different. I wish they had seen a better side to England than Brexit.

Perhaps this agitated me more than I realised; at dinner I choked badly on a piece of food that got stuck in my throat. Even the all-safe of coca-cola didn't help, and it looked like an ambulance would be needed; Russ was just calling 999 when somehow the piece dislodged itself, so maybe the bubbles did work, they just took their time.

The choking reflex cut in because I was eating too fast, the eating too fast happened because I was a little upset about my cousins leaving/recalling the horrid time of Brexit, I was too easily upset because of a)the symptom and b)lack of sleep. So it's just a case of momentary adjustment. Ice cream is a very important part of that process. I know this because I tested it extensively.

Still very little sleep due to my poor man's coughing; what dreams I had were busy and speckled with bright hyperdetails. CD and WPT living in a flat about two storeys across from the apartment where we lived, people could walk along the tops of flat buildings as though they were streets, and even cross the air between them below via rope bridges (I know where I get this image from!) C+W's flat was bright and busy, a happy vibe around everything, a feeling of meeting later on... and then I woke.

And I do feel better but suspect the need for more ice cream.

And obviously one cannot get away from the Woman of the Roads, for she delights in nonsense when the days warm, and the sensible may as well just shake their heads and ride on, for she's indulging herself with some almost-stories from the Court of Summer. So here you see.

Top Right; Now on first sight you might think this is the sun rolling along to rest by the water, maybe disguised as Jupiter, maybe indulging in a little Paisley fashion statement, but no! Look at its reflection where the truth lies, right there you can see it; tis one of the Good Neighbours, a big fae grinning at you!

Top Left: This is the sun for sure, but she knows that you must not look at her lest you be blinded. She asked the Court of Summer to make her a mask so you and she can laugh/swim together without any problems. Are you ready?

Bottom Right; This is the sun being well behaved, departing when she should, not least because others on this globe need to enjoy her presence too. So she leaves the sunset for you to remember her by, promises to return, and sends you a lovely sultry evening on the river bank where stories happen.

Bottom Left; Now that's a big sly summer moon squinting at you; and do you see the goblin cat among the flowers? There's mischief afoot!

The Woman of the Roads wishes you well, with dreams and adventures and many stories to entertain you whatever tide of the year you ride, especially now, her time. While she loves the beauty of every mood and season, Summer is her own.
