They were OK, gave us a reasonable evaluation. The problem is getting this all sorted out before the beginning of September. I don't really understand the order in which we should do this -practically we should empty the house then paint then re-carpet. But this leaves us for a while sitting on the floor to eat!

Anyway, I hope your back is better. Best get that sorted fast - tain't the sort of thing one can leave to chance.

Any chance of sending the furniture south and borrowing some garden chairs or the like from someone local? That, or go Skhordic and have scatter cushions all over...

Did I mention I'm taking strong painkillers recently? ;o)

Seriously, a blank canvas will make it SO much easier to deal with. We'd never have done what we did here with all our stuff in it at the same time. Lack of comfy seats tends to focus the mind into not putting it off too we found!

The doctor's provided reassurance about likely cause and how best to behave to get it better. The painkillers numb it sufficiently so I can keep it moving which will help. Apparently.

I think we need the house properly emptied before we can do anything. So scatter cushions are a necessity, though I don't know what we'll do for sleeping!

Pizza must be avoided at all costs, or we won't fit into the car to drive south!
