As Imbolc approaches, see Smokingboot return to the ways of her ancestors. Admittedly her gift to the Old Ones was a) entirely accidental and b) more in keeping with Lammas than Candlemass, but still, her pagan heart beat, her pagan veins throbbed and her pagan finger splattered deposits across the yard. Wonderfully magical and resonant, (Be her skin as white as snow, her lips as red as blood...) said magical resonance has left stains all over the bathroom sink. A powerful and primal gift? Or another act of blinding stupidity, this time down to not checking the binbags for pointy bits? I sometimes suspect I'm living in a fairy tale, the sort that I write.

It's been a bad week on the physical taking care of myself front, but a good week for holiday plans.



Venice is happening, the flat's booked, Scotland looks as though it's a goer, and my mother has reminded me I'm meant to be meeting my aunt in Cuba and/or Puerto Rico this year.

I've been putting her off for ages, and this year I really must be good and go. We had discussed Cuba, but no-one mentioned Puerto Rico to me. All I know about Puerto Rico is that it's home to Santeria and chupacabras, so I'm bound to find something interesting. I hardly see my seventy-odd aunt racing up hills looking for goatsuckers though. She's more likely to be sat in the nearest cafe flirting with any waiter wiley enough to feed her endless bacardis. If they've got stout behind the bar, she may never go home.


Last night, Cyanidemigraine and Evilwillow came round, and much frothing was done. Candles were lit, music played and it was all very gentle on the senses. Tonight promises to be more electric as Shadowrun resumes in the house of Far Too Talented. Strange, how quiet and contemplative I've been feeling, then we're semi-demi-pseudo-IC for two minutes and suddenly I'm ready to rock and roll! Hello weekend!
