I've seen it - it's lovely.

I wonder if that's right by where the IRA nail bomb that took out the horses went off. It'd be strikingly appropriate if it was, and I know that was the Park Lane end of Hyde Park.

I got a bit teary eyed at this one. War memorials get at me in general, but there's something about the innocence and dedication of the animals...
Guh. Have you read Sassoon's "Memoirs of a Fox-hunting Man" ? He talks about getting to war and immediately selling his horse to an officer as soon as he can, so it has an easier life. The poor horses.

You know, I think you will love WARHORSE with all your heart. Some say it is life affirming, I think it's just beautiful. Never read Sassoon's memoirs, but in the play, Joey, a devon farm horse, does indeed get sold to the army for an officer's horse...

yes, I think I'll love it too. Am going to have to go when a bit less water-soluble, though. I'm in floods of tears at the moment for things like "finding the pen I needed" so I couldn't sit through a performance now. Hopefully it will pass, otherwise I'll just be known as the professor who weeps her way through the classical canon, this coming term....

Warhorse, though - I will CERTAINLY go when it gets here. Wish I could now, but actually I can't sit that long anyway, at the moment, without getting a backache. *lipwobble*
(God, this last week has been crappy. Educational, though: now I know why people look so happy with their new babies, even when the reality of the 'now you have no self-determination' thing is just hitting home. It's because they're not 9 months' pregnant any more. This is a sobering thought. And apparently there are no take-backsies, at this stage. Even though I voiced a desire for one last night, along with "We should have just got another dog.")
