I have a friend who's in trouble.

I listened yesterday, and talked a sparky show. Cheering at the time. But we spoke again today and it isn't enough.

I have known this was coming for ages. But I'm a real coward, and somehow never say the thing that needs to be said, in case it isn't. But yesterday, just for once I was both tender and true, did what I could, said what I should.
Did my best.

Probably not enough.

If you did your best then the rest is up to him/her. There's nothing more you can do. Difficult as it is, you have to try to avoid making your friend's trouble too much your trouble, particularly if you're helpless in the face of it. Nevertheless, *big hug*.
