I don't believe in families
I don't believe in karma
I do believe in love and god
but I don't know what they are
or how they work
if they work

I don't know if the face in the moon is a goddess
But whatever it is
I still see a face in the moon
I don't believe in husbands and wives
but I try to for their sakes

I believe in fairies

I don't believe in growing old
I think that's your decision
The body falls apart and we disappear
The rest is

I respect death.

I believe in the truth of the individual
I believe in heroes
Nothing brings out cowardice or heroism more than standing alone
Humans are ugly in groups

I believe if Gaia exists and wipes us out
she'll only be showing her human side

But I don't believe that will happen
I don't believe a comet will kill us
or a fight between apocalyptic angels
or monsters or aliens or any other deliverance dream

I believe we'll do it
Same as we've always done it

Because it benefits us
And we're comfortable with that
so long as we don't look at it

I believe we make excuses
because we know what we are
I do not believe our genes force us at all
I believe we choose to be monsters

I believe I have had some small glimpse of what will happen when I die
And that's OK

I believe that anything is possible
I believe that life is beautiful

I believe in stories
I believe in a far country
I believe magic happens

It seems strange to me that I am still here
I find that hard to believe

But here I am.
